New patient visit
Your first visit to our office is a very comprehensive, hour-long examination that gives allows us the chance to fully understand your dental needs while letting you get to know us.
We will go over your medical and dental history with you to learn about your expectations and concerns (or even fears). We will take a full set of radiographs and photos of your mouth using our intraoral camera.

Dr. Kansol will examine your mouth, teeth, gums, and pre-op photos carefully to look for signs of disease or problem areas. He will perform an oral cancer screening, check your bite, and evaluate your TMJ.
We’ll also do a periodontal screening to determine if you are suffering from periodontal disease and what type of cleaning you will require. |
After this visit, we will schedule a follow-up consultation appointment for you at no charge. At this time, you’ll have a private consultation in which we’ll explain the findings of Dr. Kansol’s initial exam and go over his recommendations for your treatment.
Periodontal services
Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection in your gums that can ultimately cause you tooth loss. The bacteria that cause periodontal disease have also been linked to serious systemic problems such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
During your regular visits to our office we will check your gums carefully for signs of periodontal disease. We’ll also educate you about the best ways to care for your teeth and gums to prevent periodontal disease.
But if you do have periodontal disease, we can usually treat it in our office using non-surgical antibiotic treatment. We will help you get your periodontal disease under control and then work with you to prevent recurrences in the future.
Educating you about your oral health
Educating you about your care is an important part of your visit to our office because we want you to be a full partner in keeping your smile healthy and beautiful for a lifetime.
We take the time to talk with you at each visit and to answer your questions. We also use the CAESY system—a colorful, informative computer program—to help explain various dental conditions and treatment options. |

Referrals
If you should be in need of any treatment that we do not offer in our office, Dr. Kansol will gladly refer you to the proper specialist in the area. The specialists to whom we refer you are the premier dentists in their fields and will provide you a service that will be second to none.
